Injury on Duty Pensioner's Association

IODPA is an organisation that supports police officers that have been injured on duty through no fault of their own. Injuries can be mental, physical, or on occasions can be both.

They advise officers, who are going through the ill health retirement process, are applying for an injury pension, or are subsequently having their pension award reviewed.

Help following conviction

Police officers like anyone else can be convicted of crimes and also be victims of a miscarriage of justice.

They can make a mistake perhaps using excessive force to arrest a suspect to being targeted and "fitted up" by colleagues or oragnised crime groups. (Definition: if someone fits another person up they try to make it seem that person is responsible for a crime,) See "Shooting the Messenger" for whistleblowers,
